The Trickster Wisdom of Blooregard Q. Kazoo

Note: This post is part of a the Cartoonival of Wisdom hosted by Fight-Mediocrity.com

Blooregard Q. Kazoo, also known as “Bloo,” is an imp with a heart. He’s almost pathologically self-centered, but you end up loving him anyway for his hare-brained schemes, unbridled enthusiasm and unsinkable determination.

Always in trouble, he is a catalyst for the story to unfold in unexpected ways. If there’s a secret door you’re not supposed to open, Bloo opens it. If there’s a funny video of stuffy, old Mr. Harriman that should absolutely not be public, Bloo uploads it to the net and it goes viral. He’s the quintessential trickster, bringing chaos and mischief in the service high entertainment.

And  that makes him sticky.

Here are some of my favorite lessons in Bloo-ness. Enjoy!

Creativity makes all the difference.

Mac: What do we do? Nothing is working.

Bloo: Then it’s time to take drastic actions, and I’ve got just the plan. Operation Abe Lincoln Drop Purple Scaredy Cat Run and Scramble. From the arboreal vantage point, we shall unleash the ultimate weapon, creating a devastating chain reaction the likes of which the galaxy has never known!

Mac: What?

Bloo: I drop this fake spider on Eduardo, he freaks out, and everyone runs away.

Keep your self-esteem strong, really strong.

Wilt: You’re finally getting what you deserve.

Bloo: A race car bed? I’m finally getting a race car bed?

Wilt: No. You’re getting your just desserts. A taste of your own medicine.

Bloo: Is it bubble-gum flavored?

Dream the impossible dream.

Mac: Hey, Bloo. What are you doing?

Bloo: I’m raising money to buy Foster’s a new roof. I’m saving the day with a lemonade stand. I’ve seen it in movies.

Mac: But it’s the dead of winter.

Bloo: And?

Mac: No-one is going to buy ice-cold lemonade when it’s already ice cold outside.

Bloo: Mac, maybe you didn’t hear me. I… seen… it… in… movies!

We could all be a little more Bloo.

Tee-hee! I love Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and Bloo is my favorite character (Eduardo is a close second). From now on, “I… seen… it… in… movies!” is going to be my stock answer when I want to do something outlandish. :-)

I loooove Eduardo, too. I’m seriously considering a product called Operation Abe Lincoln Drop Purple Scaredy Cat Run and Scramble. :)

    Love it!

Thanks for sharing this. I learned two things:

1, Sometimes it is a great, great idea to do something unexpected and fun in your emails,

2, I don’t watch nearly enough Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends! (I am, however, addicted to Phineas and Ferb. Talk about your self-esteem…)

  4. [...] How we could all be a little more Bloo [...]

I’ve never seen Foster’s home for imaginary friends, but now, I really really want to. (I’m sure google will be able to come to the rescue)

I’m already thinking about how to be a little more Bloo. (a creatively impossible dream may be brewing, and you won’t have seen it in the movies)

“He’s almost pathologically self-centered, but you end up loving him anyway for his hare-brained schemes, unbridled enthusiasm and unsinkable determination.”

–> You just wrote the perfect description of my dog!

Had never heard of Bloo, but now I want to carry him around with me always.
